Recently i have been reaading the book "emotional intelligence and why it can matter more then IQ" it makes the case for the average man who is more in touch with the emotional responses accepted by socitey and its benfifical effect upon the individual. It goes over the thought processes that affect higher level IQ persons and how because they are more logic base for the most part and how it can affect them by ether failing spectular or truly suceeding in this american dream that is constantly influnced by finacial gains and loses. So far a very good and intresting book.

I agree. Since the internet has come around and widely used it most likely has rewired the thought process and it has instead of the brain lighting up with memoy, we dim it down with looking for the infromation. The reason people seem so intelligent is that they can look up basically anything , while i hardly use the computer because i just dont llike the feeling it has on my wrists. An annoying throbing pain, that then induces a headache that dosnt allow me to think so i stay away from computer use for more then thirty minutes at a time. Its not a bad thing but i think it has shaped my way of seeing the world not as interconnected but still distance just in a newer way then the ocean use to.

I am currently beginning the biography of William Blake, a romantic poet. My sister use to read some of his poems to me as a kid, but i was always more intrested in the pictures that Blake had drawn to show his poems. It was only after I started to understand the alienation that he felt from his family even if they did love him he knew himself to be different mentaly. I understand that feeling when all you do seems to be wrong and no one understands your actions or the reasons behind why you act stupid from time to time. The constant attention you pay to the people around you trying to figure out why they act like they do, and how you wear a mask to get them to show different sides of thier personalities to you when you only crack jokes then turn a cold shoulder when you act how you act with people close to you. William Blake has been a huge influnnce on my own thoughts because he made it, even with his eccentries.

This week I'm reading the lies of Locke Lamora, which is about a group of theives in a place that reminds the reader of Dickinsons England. It's a book centering on the past and present of the main character named Locke who has a gift for stealing and acting. He learns the trick of trade of conning rich and stupid people from a blind priest. The book deals with the injustice of poverty and how you will do anything to get ssomething to eat. The only difference in this world is that if yr caught stealing even one time your excuted, even the small children who need wieghts tied to thier legs so they can be "hung properly". it's a very intresting book and a personal favorite of mine.

reading response 2 1984
the simplist writing style of george orwell allowed anybody to read his book and understand them in new profound ways. the book 1984 for those of you who have not yet had the pleasure of reading this almost frightening way of the world as it could become (for some reason England is always the first to try something new)
The main character is Winston Smith, if you pick apart the name you can notice the bland nature of his last name, a striking contrast to his first name Winston (Winston churchill. anyone?) the first chapter is about how Winston begins to hate the Party which prohibts any induivuality, and if you are found to even be thinking of any rebellious thoughts (which im sure are in some fine print contract they make you sign at birth, who needs a lawyer anyway) they takie you away and you dont come back the same. The book is found to be extreamly vivid in describing some of the conditions of the world as we see it now, "Big Brother" is watching you at all times of the day and the vernacular of the people is quickly cleansed of any words that can even be misinterperted to be anti-party.
From the get go you see winston fight the influnce of the party by writing in a journal (illegal). ya ummm every great revolution starts somewhere i suppose....
